My Internet Garden

The intent with this website is to build an online internet garden. I met the idea in this YouTube video which references this website page . I have only just read it, along with some other pages to which it links, but the idea still appeals. I am aware, although dimly, that a lot of the people who create neocities webpages do so in either pursuit of a past nostalgic youth or hope for a future internet, which has a different culture to its current form. I, today, learned of the relation to geocities. The appeal was instead the relation to cats. I do not know why I thought cats were involved, possibly because of the similarity to neko, as they don't appear to be, except for the cat maintainance worker I suppose. I like the idea of collecting various things which interest me, my thoughts on them, or my thoughts in general, all in one place. The aim is not to blog, in the sense of producing a post which is finished, but rather maintaining or cultivating pages of interest, which are linked together in a non-chronological manner. It is likely that things will be chronological initially, and possibly permently, partially because there is an appeal to idea evolution over time, in the sense that a person's ideas change over time, rather than the idea itself (or the presentation of the idea by a person) has changed over time. I'll hopefully be able to make this website look visually appealing, to me at least, even if that doesn't appeal to anyone else whatsoever. The benefit of that will be learning web design and related things.

Posts where I ponder
  • Partially prepared ground on observation and obsereved
  • Partially prepared ground on household labour
  • Things I need to do specifically to this site
  • Give it some structure
  • Give it a theme, possibly related to gardens
  • Work out how to better manage the html files and other things on the backend I don't have any spell check aahhhh how scary
  • Add something to do with what I'm reading, or comments on what I've read. It's nice to remember what one's watched and when. There isn't really a good way of doing this other than having a number of accounts with a few different websites which are excellent at containing prepopulated information about the things in question. It'd be nice to just have a central database for books, films, anime, music, and so on. I don't think I wish to recall everything I've ever read - that feels to me like the act of recording is the focus rather than the thing itself , something that I'd like to avoid - but it would be nice when I do have thoughts or impressions to put them somewhere.
  • It might be nice to have some things about like random plant facts or something about that. I do wish to slowly learn plant names in Latin. Partly because I want to sound pompus partly because I think it's cool.
